When It’s Better to Tell Than Show


It’s not uncommon to visit a writer’s message board and see a new writer accuse a published writer of breaking “Show Don’t Tell.”  It usually comes across as, “I caught him telling!”  The problem is that it’s not a black and white issue.  There are times when it’s appropriate–and even better–to use telling.  IOP describes 5 Situations Where It’s Better to Tell Than Show.
