Rule J: Don’t sweat the hard stuff — Just write!

Linda’s Rules of Writing

A hand drawn diagram of how Bell's telephone invention worked
Sometimes you have to mess something up to understand how to do it right. This is a drawing of Alexander Bell’s invention, the telephone.

We’re onto the letter E in Linda’s Rules of Writing of the A to Z Challenge, and Just write.

Don’t worry if you’re doing it right or not.

Don’t worry if you’re not following the rules.

Don’t try to make it perfect.

Don’t fuss over the dumb stuff like how a sentence looks.

If it isn’t working, it can be fixed on revision.

But it can’t be revised if it isn’t written, so just write!

What’s the worst writing thing you messed up and fixed so it was better?
